Kadira Purivatra said that, in August 1993 Trninic, who was accompanied by another policeman, crashed into her house and beat Husein up. She said that Trninic came to their house and left it several times on that same day. She said that he beat her husband each time he came, adding that the husband died on the following day.

“Trninic came with a policeman. They went inside the house, but they did not let me come with them. I could hear them beating Husein. After they left, I went inside and saw Husein lying on the floor. He was covered with bruises and beaten up. Some time later Trninic came back, dragged my husband out of the house and beat him again. He was cursing the whole time,” Purivatra said.

The witness said that, after having been beaten up, her husband remained lying on the stairs in front of the basement, adding that he did not move.

The Banja Luka District Prosecution charges Milan Trninic, former member of police in Gradiska, with having come to Husein Purivatra’s house in Rovine village, near Gradiska, on August 6, 1993 and beat him up. Husein died one day later due to the injuries caused by that beating.

The District Prosecution qualified this case as murder and not as war crime against the civilian population.G.O.
